Baku Engineering University

A brief description of Baku Engineering University (BEU = http://www.beu.edu.az/en):

Baku Engineering University (BEU) is one of the best higher education institutions functions under the Ministry of Education. BEU was established on November 8, 2016, with the status of the Public Legal Entity on the base of one private university which it was established in 1993. BEU situated in a big Campus which it is located in Khirdalan city, Azerbaijan.

BEU prepares engineers on all levels of higher education, execute programmes of higher and additional education in this sphere, and conduct fundamental and applied science researches.

BEU has four faculties (Engineering Faculty, Architecture and Construction Faculty, Economics and Administrative Faculty and Pedagogy Faculty) and they prepare specialties in 28 directions with more than 415 academic personal. BEU prepare specialists mainly Azerbaijan, English and Russian languages. The education programs of BEU focused in English language and it cover more than 60% of all education programs (BSc, MSc, MBA and PhD) at BEU.

Besides, the establishment of the university aims to improve the teaching of engineering technologies and prepare highly-qualified personnel for the industry.

BEU is a partner university at the Erasmus+ program within different KA1 agreements and KA2 projects (for example: ITACA, MAGNUS, CRENG, PROMIG, PAWER etc.), as well as BEU with its relevant departments was involved to a preparation of HORIZON 2020 projects with its EU partner universities.

Besides, BEU is very active in scientific and research works with its academic personal which they also publish a lot of scientific articles in different international and impact factor journals. The students of BEU are participating at the different Olympiads and scientific competitions where they won 1st place and get different awards.

BEU has different laboratories with modern equipment and all needed facilities. BEU also has TECHNOPARK, Business Incubation and Innovation Centres, Department on work with Enterprises and Careers as well as Public Relations Department and International Relations and Projects Management Department and other needed functional departments.

BEU has more than 80 international students from 20 different countries and interested to increase number of its international students with new countries.

BEU is implementing internationalization strategy and main directions as below:

Become a leader university of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Develop and integrate educational programs of BEU according to EU High Education Institutions standards, Participating at the international mobility programs (as Erasmus+ KA1 (107), DAAD, Fulbright, Mevlana Exchange etc.), Preparing and implementing the Double Degree Diploma Programs in BSc, MSc and PhD, Attracting the international academic staff from other countries to work at BEU, Attracting the international students from other countries to study at BEU, Organize international conferences and events at BEU, Support academic staff of BEU to participate at the international conferences and events, Prepare joint R&D and different international projects with BEU partners, Developing international educational corporations through cooperating with Embassies in Azerbaijan and abroad.
